Artist Statement

In the past, my traditional 4-harness loom pieces were not traditional design works. I thought it was really stretching the art review though when some showcase items were reviewed and tagged Surreal.

This led my creativity and work in two directions. I worked in theater constructing costumes for play productions and at the same time hung fishing nets for Alaskan salmon fishermen. Now this was truly a Surreal lifestyle in my book of learning processes.

I decided to learn graphic software programs in 1999. I offer original digital print designs on products through my store with Zazzle, a print-on-demand company.

When the architecture term Gothic became a social term, Goth, another new growth period was in the making for artists. Utilizing the Medival term to describe people and emmotional dark art was a unique opportunity for creativity. This type of branding opens the door to a new audience of patrons for the arts.

The lifestyle terms Urban Fantasy and Steampunk are exciting for artists as well as home decor designers.

Combining fashion and decor trends that are very strong period styles lends well to the aesthetics of eclectic styling.

Through repurposing or redefining these eras along with utilization of upcycling, another audience of patrons hits the scene.

Upcycling is going to be very hot as soon as artists are hit by two things: desire to reduce the carbon foot-print and the creative ability to
re-define products.

My original art store is in its infancy. I am so trying to fill it up with all the projects waiting for completion in my studio.
