Linked-In: A venue for professionals to find like minds and connect professional with other professionals. For some that makes it a "bragging rights" venue and for some there is a benefit in the opportunity to brainstorm with like minds on shared topics of professional interest.
Blogspot: Utilizing blogspot brings another dimension to social networking and search engine optimization. How to develop a blog is dependent on the purpose for having one and then the goals you want to achieve from all the effort. I operate several blogspots: Sher2x4-Landing™, KissMyConfusion™ and Graphic Designer Rebecca Lea™.
Twitter: I suggest getting a Twitter. In 140 characters the goal is to connect with someone. I have several for different audiences: KissMyConfusion, gdrl, cnjAR, LVQ, Sher2x4Landing and DeEclectic.
Squidoo: A place to develop skills at content writing and becoming a Squidoo Lens Crafter. There are many opportunities for small business e-commerce. I've gotten a little behind utilizing this wonderful venue but there will be time to catch up with some very powerful and talented lens crafters.
Tumblr: This is an easy one to use and it requires some involvement to get it working to your advantage. One can post, find other interests to follow, send posts to twitter, upload pictures, podcasts and videos.
